Bodakdev School has opened its doors for children with special needs with a sole motive of providing high-quality inclusive education.
The vision of the school is to provide world-class education in Ahmedabad which accelerates awareness and acceptance of special children with different learning or emotional needs. To fulfil this vision, the school has employed special educators and experts, supported by state-of-the-art academic and co-curricular infrastructure facilities.
Special students will be continuously trained for their motor skills, eye-hand coordination, visual sequencing scanning etc. depending on their ability.
Mission: To provide special students with individual attention and a caring environment wherein professionally qualified teachers nurture the child’s potential and develop them into confident and independent individuals.
Art Therapy: This therapy uses art media as it is the primary mode of expression and communication. The art here is used as a medium to address emotional and behavioral issues and learning disabilities. The therapy is provided in groups or individually according to the students’ needs. The therapists employ a wide range of multimedia to make the learning experience fruitful yet enjoyable.
Music Therapy: Music therapy uses music interventions to accomplish individualized goals. The therapy helps students improve their abilitiesin several domains such as cognitive functioning, motor skills, emotional development, social skills and quality of life using both active and passive music.
The Sports Programme: The Sports Programme offered at ‘Sparkles’-Special Class focuses on quality physical education and sports activities to facilitate learning and life skills development in children. The sports curriculum is supported by an appropriate training environment and by opportunities for physical, personal and social skills development. The programme aims to decrease behavioural issues while enhancing cognitive levels, personality development and spatial orientation through sports.
Counselling Services: We aim at helping students understand and regulate their emotions, identify their unique strengths and needs, use strategies to overcome hurdles. The skill building will lay a foundation for successful social relation and eliminate behavioural concerns that interfere with classroom learning. A child with special needs requires extra love, care and affection from the parents. We provide research-backed information and counselling to parents as well which will help them reassure their child will learn and develop their personality at Bodakdev School-Special Class ‘Sparkles’.
Age Group: The school accepts admissions for special students with special needs from 3 yrs to 9 yrs
The school offers inclusive education program to students with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder(ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Developmental Delays and Learning Disabilities (like dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia)
Admission Process
The admission process might differ for each student. The parents will be updated once the form is submitted to the school.
The following serves as a handy guideline for prospective parents when applying to Bodakdev School:
- Call the admission’s office to arrange a date and time for visiting the school premise.
- Prescribed application form for admission should be filled online with all the necessary documents mentioned in the form.
- Psychological & Educational Assessment done by specialists needs to be submitted.
Faculty:
A highly trained team of teachers and professionally qualified therapists form the team at Bodakdev School. These professionals come with years of hands-on experience in the field. They evaluate the benefits of nurturing individual talent and encourage each student to identify his or her potential. The school has a student-teacher ratio of 4:1.
The school promotes a holistic process for the overall development of the child, where the Intelligence Quotient(IQ), Emotional Quotient( EQ) and Social Quotients of the student are aligned through diverse interventions . Snacks: The school has a facility for providing freshly cooked snacks to students during the snack break. In case of any specific food allergy, the parents have to give the details to the school at the time of admission, and they will be required to send food from home.
Transport: There will be school bus available for Playgroup to Senior KG. The school bus will operate on specific routes to cater to the timings of these classes. In case the timings and the routes match – the transport facilities will be made available also to the special children . However, the child should be capable of handling himself/herself.

School Timings
The timings will be from 9 am to 1 pm.
No classes are held on Saturdays; however school will be working.
